One of Thailand's claims to fame is as the origin of the Siamese cats. Within the country the Siamese is known as the 'Wichan Mat', and there are not as many as you might think. Below are a few photographs of both the Siamese and some other Thai cats that may not be so familar

Khao Manee Cat with odd coloured eyes
The pure Khao Manee is rightly famous for its different colour eyes. The owner of this cat was offered 1.5 million baht, that's $37000 (US) - he declined.

'Khao Manee' means White Diamond in Thai. It is actually forbidden by ancient Royal decree to sell a pure Khao Manee.
